I took a Business Management class in college. Our final assignment was to write a business plan. Have you ever written a business plan? Not fun. However, I imagine if you were writing it for a real business you planned on starting, the feeling would be different. Anyway, I'm not really sure why I chose a greeting card company. I had always liked picking them out at the store. Like, really liked it. But once I got past the cash register, I didn't give it much more thought.
After I wrote and designed a handful of solid cards, I then posted them on Etsy and got a decent amount of orders. The orders kept coming in, as did the words of encouragement from friends and family. My cards are really random. I think that's what makes them successful, one might be a perfect, not-so-serious sympathy card, and the next might be the most offensive thing you've ever read. That's what makes this so much fun :)...for me.
I'm happy to say that writing greeting cards is a hobby that will never get old for me.
